In Germany, leasing companies handle an investment volume of over EUR 50 billion every year. Over 20 % of investments in equipment in Germany are financed on a lease basis. Leasing will continue to be a growth segment in the mid-term, particularly in light of the currently conservative lending policy at banks and the impacts of Basle II.
The market includes both international leasing companies, which often have manufacturer or bank affiliations, and a great many independent, medium-sized and small leasing companies.
